'Sharp, fast, versatile and funny.  Really funny!'

I've clocked up 25 years experience of writing copy every day, developing and managing commercially sound communciation plans and creating, commissioning or managing colleague engagement and marketing collateral for businesses big and small. Most recently for Somerfield,  'Britain's favourite local grocery store'.

I started my copywriting career at 21 writing copy for holiday brochures, but I really learnt my trade researching and writing for Which? Magazine. I was a verifier for Which? too - which is their word for 'jobbing researcher and sub-editor'! I have also freelanced for the Times Education Supplement (TES) and a couple of health related part-work titles along the way.

I've written more training brochures, technical manuals and support materials than I care to remember while working for ChildLine, Videoway (a cable TV company) and Somerfield. I have also produced acres of copy for annual reports, business and project plans, executive updates and summaries for Lambeth Council, ISDD, ChildLine, UK Skills and Somerfield, really the list does go on and on.

I have had the rare luck and privilege to work with some fantastic small business owners and artists too, helping them delight their customers with simple, well structured communications and giving them back the time they needed to build their businesses.

Oh and I once persuaded Michael Winner to dump spaghetti on his head for ChildLine's Bad Hair Day book - not strictly business communication related, but it neatly demonstrates my courage and tenacity in the face of even the toughest brief.

If you would like to have names and dates, I'd be happy to email you my full CV.
